Head of Bonava Sweden sees clear market recovery but warns of land shortages and high building costs

Nordic — Swedish residential developer Bonava is seeing clear signs of a recovery in the country's housing market after a sluggish start to the year, driven by renewed investor appetite, stronger demand in prime locations and improved access to project financing. However, Michael Björklund, Head of Bonava Sweden, warns that a shortage of development-ready land, elevated construction costs and lengthy planning processes continue to pose significant challenges to a broader market recovery.

Bonava sells and starts production of a rental project with 91 apartments in Sigtuna

Sweden Sweden — Bonava is starting production of a rental housing project in Sigtuna comprising 91 cooperative rental apartments and is, in parallel, selling it to a newly established JV between real estate investors Urban Partners (formerly Nrep), Granitor and Justim. The underlying property value in the transaction amounts to SEK 363 million. The project is being financed by the buyer, with regular payments being made during production. The homes are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Nrep makes residential acquisition in Uppsala

Sweden Sweden — Nrep is expanding its presence in the residential segment by acquiring 231 rental apartments in Årsta, Uppsala. The transaction, valued at SEK 485 million, is being carried out in partnership with Bonava, the project’s developer and seller.
