For Friskis&Svettis, the new establishment marks another step in its long-term mission to get more Malmö residents moving. The association has operated in Malmö since 1984 and, following a challenging period in the wake of the pandemic, has seen steady membership growth in recent years. The new facility will be the association’s sixth in Malmö and will be located on the ground floor of the property. The lease agreement with Wihlborgs Fastigheter runs for seven years.

“We have had our sights on Hyllie for a long time. It is a rapidly growing district where many people both live and work, and we know that proximity is crucial in making exercise part of everyday life. The premises at Bures gata offer excellent conditions for creating an accessible and welcoming meeting place for movement, where working out can become a natural part of the day. We want to be an inclusive and inspiring place with a low threshold – a companion in everyday life. We now look forward to bringing the joy of movement to Hyllie,” says Olle Ingman, Operations Manager at Friskis&Svettis Malmö.

“We see a clear and growing need for environments that promote health and wellbeing, both in and around the workplace. Friskis&Svettis will be a valuable addition to Hyllie, for both the people working here and those living in the area. Activity and light on the ground floor, even in the evenings, help create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere in the neighbourhood. This is exactly the kind of offering that continues to strengthen Hyllie as a district where work, everyday life and services come together,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
