"We look forward to continuing the good cooperation with Bane Nor Eiendom after a very good interaction phase. We are on track with the new terminal building and a large office building at Trondheim S, Trondheim's central station, both of which are due to be completed before the end of the year. Therefore, it is a very good fit for us to continue with the next construction phase", says Regional Director Torgeir Wiig at Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag.

The station block that Veidekke will now build extends over two blocks with a total of 38,000 square meters of building space at the train station in Trondheim. The assignment includes building 5,500 m2 of retail and office space towards Gryta, a new covered regional bus terminal with direct access to the central station and a publicly accessible bicycle hotel for 500 bicycles for travelers. The basement will have underground parking with space for 140 cars. From the third floor, two residential blocks with 234 apartments will be built in several buildings from three to six floors.

"Trondheim S is one of Norway’s most ambitious hub projects, where we are creating a modern and vibrant city district with seamless mobility. With new housing, jobs and better public transport solutions, we are strengthening the city’s accessibility and contributing to sustainable urban development. We are pleased to have Veidekke on board in this extensive project", says Project Director Dag Haugdal at Bane Nor Eiendom.

Construction work will begin after the summer with planned completion in two stages, at the beginning and towards the end of 2028 respectively. The assignment is included in Veidekke’s order backlog for the first quarter.
