Sweden —
The fact that Swedes have difficulty getting to know new people in general, and their neighbors in particular, is a long-standing fact. Today, only one in two Swedes has a good relationship with their neighbours. At the same time, seven out of ten Swedes want to have a better relationship with people in the immediate area. A new report from Svensk Fastighetsförmedling investigates the symptoms of, and remedies for, neighborhood fear. One conclusion from the report is that older people have a much better relationship with their neighbors than younger people - the dream of good relationships, on the other hand, is strong among both groups. The report also shows that good relationships contribute to better health, increased security and less loneliness.
