“We are very pleased to offer Smart High Tech a larger space in Arendal to support their continued growth. Arendal is an area with strong ties to technological development and logistics. Smart High Tech’s decision to expand here highlights the area's importance and future potential as a hub for Swedish research and light industrial production. We look forward to following their growth journey and welcoming similar companies to the area,” says Henrik Axelsson, Head of Industrial and Logistics at Platzer.

Smart High Tech is leasing 5,300 square meters in the ARW building, located on the Arendal 1:26 property. The five-year lease includes a green appendix that ensures tangible sustainability measures and energy-efficient solutions. The move allows the company to scale up production of graphene-based thermal interface materials, which efficiently dissipate heat in advanced electronics, such as those used in artificial intelligence and data centers.

“Smart High Tech is in an exciting phase of expansion. The new facility enables us to develop efficiently to meet future customer demands by bringing production, research, and development together under one roof. We are excited to take the next step in our development journey in partnership with Platzer,” says Mats Bergh, CEO of Smart High Tech.

Arendal is a strategically important area in Gothenburg and part of a logistics hub that, for the 23rd consecutive year, has been recognized as the leading logistics location in the Nordic region. The area is undergoing rapid development, attracting a growing number of technology and industrial companies. Its proximity to the Port of Gothenburg, excellent logistics infrastructure, and connection to academia make it particularly attractive. In the coming years, Platzer plans to further densify Arendal in several phases, with the first phase potentially starting as early as 2025. This initial phase will include approximately 50,000 square meters designated for logistics, light manufacturing, and research and development.
