Rikshem currently owns approximately 5,500 rental apartments and community properties in Uppsala, which is a priority location for the company. The acquisition of the three properties in the Kvarngärdet district complements Rikshem's existing portfolio in the area. The properties have a total lettable area of approximately 6,500 square metres and consist of 127 apartments ranging from one to four rooms with kitchens.

“The demand for housing in Uppsala remains high. We already have a significant presence in Kvarngärdet, so this is a welcome addition. Our large portfolio in the area enables efficient management and creates positive synergies,” says Anette Frumerie, CEO of Rikshem.

“We are pleased to hand over 127 high-quality rental apartments with strong energy performance to Rikshem, a stable and long-term owner and manager of residential properties. Investment properties are a complement to Besqab’s core business, and given the current market conditions, we believe that reallocating capital to residential development will generate greater shareholder value,” says Magnus Andersson, CEO of Besqab.

The buildings were completed in 2023 and were constructed with investment support. They are equipped with rooftop solar panels and are certified under the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. All apartments, as well as the two commercial units on the ground floor, are currently fully leased.

Possession of the properties is scheduled for 30 June.
