The properties are located in the Hälla, Erikslund, and Bäckby industrial areas and are 95% let to a mix of tenants. Areim is planning to develop the properties’ quality and sustainability profiles through targeted updates, including energy efficiency measures.

“We continue to see significant potential in regional cities. Västerås shows strong local growth and remains a key market for Areim. With this latest acquisition, we are increasing our footprint in the city and reinforcing our long-term commitment to the light industrial sector. We remain focused on enhancing the properties in line with our strategy, developing well-functioning assets that add lasting value to both tenants and the surrounding areas,” says Jesper Warén, Head of Light Industrial Investments at Areim.

This latest acquisition complements Areim’s existing portfolio in Västerås, Greater Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Norrköping. Over the past twelve months, Areim has acquired an additional 24 light industrial properties through seven separate transactions. In total, Areim now owns around 80 properties with a total lettable area of roughly 356,000 sqm in its light industrial portfolio in Sweden. The portfolio also includes a significant volume of building rights as well as ongoing development.
