“Imbalance between supply and demand slows Finnish housing sales”

In 2025, housing sales in Finland showed a clearly measurable increase in the number of property transactions. Now, Jukka Rantanen, CEO of the real estate brokerage chain SB-Hem, and Henna Mikkonen, Chief Economist at the Finnish Savings Banks Group, predict that the number of transactions involving previously owned homes will perform weaker in 2026. The shortage of newly built homes is limiting supply and slowing market activity.<br />
“New family-sized homes are particularly needed to meet demand and to balance market development,” says Rantanen.
