In 2021, Skanska got its hands on one of the last large urban development areas in the middle of central Stockholm – the block for St. Erik's eye hospital. The company bought the area from Region Stockholm and will pay SEK 1.5 billion when the detailed plan gains legal force, which is expected to happen in 2023.
