Sponda has agreed terms for a long-term lease agreement at Bulevardi 1 in central Helsinki with the law firm HPP Attorneys Ltd. The new agreement extends HPP’s previous 20-year tenancy at the building and will see the offices undergo a comprehensive renovation.
Completed in 1890, the Bulevardi 1 property is a recognisable part of the Helsinki cityscape. The building is commonly known as the ‘HPP building’—due, in part, to the illuminated HPP sign on its rooftop. Its central location ensures excellent transport connections and a wide range of nearby services.
As part of the lease renewal, HPP’s 2,500 sqm office will undergo a complete renovation during 2025–2026. The design has been developed in close collaboration with HPP to modernise and upgrade the space, ensuring it reflects their specific needs, working culture, and business objectives. Modern technology will be deployed to optimise indoor conditions for comfort and improve energy efficiency, creating bright, fresh and modern workspaces complemented by a stylish lounge and client area.
“Our office space project coincided nicely with HPP’s 50th anniversary. The renewal of our premises symbolizes the transformation we are actively driving forward. While honoring our history, we are evolving and entering the next phase of HPP, which places exceptionally high demands on the working environment. In light of this transformation, it feels natural to continue in a familiar location, now enhanced with thoughtfully modernized workspaces. In line with our values, we trust that our long-term partner will continue to support our business in the best possible way,” says Antti Rintakoski, Managing Partner of HPP Attorneys.
“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with HPP, and the decision to extend their lease with us reflects our mutual trust and the value they place on the quality, central location, and sustainability of our Bulevardi 1 property. The new agreement and upcoming renovation demonstrate the continued demand for modern, future-oriented work environments in the heart of the city, with location increasingly becoming a key strategic consideration for attracting top talent,” says Sponda’s CEO Christian Hohenthal.
