SRV and real estate investment company Balder Finland have signed an agreement for the design and construction of two office buildings in Blue Industry Park, located next to the Turku shipyard area. The premises have been fully leased to Finnish cruise ship builder Meyer Turku. The final closing of the transaction is still subject to the building permit becoming legally valid. The total value of the project is approximately EUR 38,5 million. The project is expected to be entered into SRV’s order backlog in June.
Construction is planned to begin once the building permit has been confirmed in summer 2026, and the premises are scheduled for completion at the beginning of 2028.
“The project is significant for SRV from a strategic standpoint, as we aim to increase the number of non-residential development projects in our project portfolio. We see great potential in Blue Industry Park, and in the current market situation, the vitality of the marine industry makes the area attractive also for industrial and logistics operators,” says Samu Lamminen, Head of Transactions at SRV.
“It is a pleasure to contribute to the favourable development of the marine industry in the Turku region. We believe that this new Meyer headquarters project will support sustainable business growth far into the future,” says Juha Lehtonen, CEO of Balder Finland.
“This office building represents a long-term strategic investment for us and a concrete way to modernise and further develop Meyer Turku. The project supports our company’s growth and competitiveness, enhances and streamlines our operations, and improves safety by reducing pedestrian traffic within the shipyard area. The new headquarters will provide a workplace for nearly 700 of our white-collar employees, while at the same time freeing up more space for actual production operations. Securing the shipyard’s operating conditions and growth opportunities will also have a significant impact on the entire Turku economic area,” says Casimir Lindholm, CEO of Meyer Turku.
Jani Peltomäki, SRV’s Regional Director for Southwest Finland, notes that the area is rapidly developing into one of Finland’s most attractive hubs for industrial growth.
"We are also currently in active negotiations on the leasing of logistics and production projects in the area that are in our project development. Together with our investment partner Logian, we are ready to launch these development projects on an accelerated schedule. In addition, we have begun marketing and preliminary negotiations on the lease of a third office building planned for the office plot," says Jani Peltomäki.
