Additionally a package will be presented in the fall’s budget proposition consisting of €323 M focusing on:
# Stimulus to municipalities for increased construction and increased notice efficiency.
# Increased energy efficiency of the Million Programme.
# A new and more efficient support of senior housing construction.
The government’s proposal of €54 M in investments in improved public transportation and a densified construction within the frame of the urban agreements has since earlier been adopted by the parliament.
“Sweden needs to invest more to handle the jobs and future competition, and there are few things that are so wise to invest in as more people having their own housing” says Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.
“More will be built for people with normal incomes and it will be built in a climate smart way. This will be facilitated by this support” says Climate and Environment Minister Åsa Romson.
The support is in regards to new constructions that will be started from now on, and will be adjusted according to the cost position of the different regions. The support will be especially high for living areas up to 35 sqm, including energy efficiency requirements, reasonable rents and that the apartments will be supplied in an open way. With the proposed budget frame, the support would be able to be give to approximately 15,000 apartments per year.
The investment support is a part of the government’s property package. There an additional €375 M is deposited to support for municipalities for increased resident construction and increased notice efficiency, increased energy efficiency of the Million Programme, urban agreements and support for senior housing construction.
This will among other things be financed by lowered ROT deduction (Repairs, Conversion, Extension), from 50 to 30 percent of the labour costs.
Swedish Government Induct Stimulus for New Rental Units

The Swedish government plans to introduce a stimulus packages of €344 M annually to increase the construction of rental units.<br />
The proposal will be a part of the budget proposition for 2016.<br />
