Ruby Hotels, founded by CEO Michael Struck, continues its European expansion with a new project in Copenhagen. Here, the unique Lean Luxury concept is combined with a carefully restored architectural environment. The existing office building at Gammel Kongevej 74A will be transformed into a Ruby hotel with 219 rooms spread over six floors. The hotel will offer lively social spaces, a winter garden on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city.

The hotel will be attractively located in Frederiksberg, one of Copenhagen’s most sought-after districts, known for its rich restaurant offering, cultural attractions and unique shops. Within walking distance of Copenhagen Central Station, the vibrant Kødbyen and the iconic Tivoli Gardens, guests will have easy access to the city’s best experiences. Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is only 25 minutes away by car or public transport.

Elena Günther-Jakobs, Associate Director for Central and Northern Europe at Ruby Group, comments:

“Copenhagen has long been a priority for us, and we are very pleased to finally establish ourselves in Denmark. The city’s dynamic atmosphere, with its strong arts and cultural scene and renowned gastronomy, makes it a perfect destination for our target group. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with ECE and introducing our unique hotel concept to this growing market.”

Henrie W. Kötter, CEO of ECE Work & Live, adds:

“Our first hotel project in Denmark is an excellent example of our strategy to acquire existing properties or land in attractive metropolitan areas in Europe and develop them into sustainable, user-friendly properties with high investment potential. We look forward to realizing this exciting project together with Ruby Group.”

The project, developed in close collaboration with ECE - Ruby's long-term partner - provides a unique opportunity to breathe new life into an existing property in a prime location. With its strong potential and excellent communications, the hotel fits perfectly into Ruby Group's vision of transforming underutilized properties into vibrant hotel experiences. Ruby's design team, led by Matthew Balon, will ensure that the interior reflects the brand's signature style where style, functionality and comfort meet.

The new Ruby hotel in Copenhagen is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
