Shopping Centre Mylly is the largest shopping centre in Southwest Finland and the eighth largest in Finland in terms of sales and floor area. In 2024, Mylly recorded over 5.6 million customer visits and hosts approximately 140 shops and services. The total sales of its tenants exceeded EUR 250 million in 2024. Mylly has been ranked number one for five consecutive years in T-Media’s Trust & Reputation survey, which evaluates Finland’s largest shopping centres. The property was completed in 2001 and has undergone several expansions, most recently in 2022. Its current leasable area is 63,000 square metres.

“The area’s growth and development prospects are excellent, and we believe in Shopping Centre Mylly’s strong appeal in the future as well. We are committed to continuously developing our services for our rapidly growing cooperative membership base. As owners, we are dedicated to further developing the Mylly property and its services in collaboration with our tenants and other local stakeholders,” says Niklas Österlund, CEO of Turun Osuuskauppa.

The share transaction will not affect the centre’s operations, and the current organisational structure will remain unchanged under the leadership of CEO Mari Hantula.

“I am very excited that Mylly’s local ownership is being strengthened,” says Hantula.

“Shopping Centre Mylly is in excellent condition from the perspective of customers, employees, the environment, and financial performance. The property is currently carbon neutral in its operations, holds a LEED environmental certification, and uses 100 percent green electricity, as well as district heating and cooling. SOK’s ownership was always intended as a temporary arrangement, as agreed in the original shareholders' agreement, and the timing for this change was now mutually appropriate. As a regional operator, Turun Osuuskauppa is an excellent owner to continue developing both the shopping centre and the area’s services,” says Jorma Vehviläinen, CFO of SOK.

Turun Osuuskauppa is currently carrying out several other investment projects across Southwest Finland, and the present acquisition will not impact previously announced investment plans. “Earlier this year, we announced major investments in our network, including the opening of a new Prisma store in Naantali, construction of which is set to begin this year,” Niklas Österlund adds.
