“This acquisition is a strategic move that strengthens our presence in the city center and creates synergies with our other properties in the area, including Kristian Augusts gate 23. The Tullin quarter is becoming an exciting hub for knowledge and culture in Oslo, and we aim to contribute to its continued revitalization with a focus on sustainability and urban life,” says Eirik Thrygg, CEO of Höegh Eiendom.
The building dates back to the late 19th century and features distinct industrial references and qualities suitable for modern use. The open courtyard forms part of the inner courtyard structure of the Tullin quarter and offers potential for increased activity and new services.
“The property boasts an attractive location, a beautiful façade, and impressive volumes. We will offer high-quality, centrally located office spaces with energy-efficient solutions. In addition, we intend to activate the ground floor with more public-facing enterprises and connect the building more closely to the new urban space near Tullinløkka,” says Cecilie Landgraff, Property Manager at Höegh Eiendom.
Jahr Gruppen, consisting of brothers Morten and Håkon Jahr and their families, has owned and managed the property since the early 2000s.
“It has been important for us to find the right buyer – one who will preserve the character of the building and take care of its tenants. Höegh Eiendom is a long-term player who shares many of the same values we stand for, which makes this feel like the right decision,” says Morten Jahr on behalf of the family.
Höegh Eiendom will take over ownership shares in the property company in mid-June and looks forward to taking good care of both the building and its tenants. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
