Among the Danish projects are the transformation of the former Central Post Office into Villa Copenhagen, Ørkenfortet, the Grand Joanne hotel project and the current urban development and transformation project Laksegadekvarteret in central Copenhagen.
"We have been working in Denmark for more than ten years and are experiencing a clear demand for our skills in transformation and urban development. With an office in Copenhagen, we can work even more closely with developers, partners and authorities and be more present in the daily development of the projects," says Tobias Magnesjö, architect and CEO.
Arkitekterna Krook & Tjäder works with complex projects in existing urban contexts, where architecture, cultural and historical values and new functions are balanced with respect for the identity of the place and urban life. The work is often based on the dense, mixed city and how qualitative densification can occur based on existing structures.
"Laksegadekvarteret is a current example of the type of tasks we solve in Denmark. It is a project with great urban and cultural-historical complexity, where the transformation must create new opportunities without erasing the character of the place. This approach is central to our work," says Lars Gunnarsson, architect at Krook & Tjäder.
The Copenhagen office will become part of the firm's Nordic organization and will function as a base for both existing and future projects in Denmark. At the same time, the establishment strengthens the opportunities to work across the Øresund region, both for Swedish clients with projects in Denmark and for Danish investors and developers who are oriented towards Sweden.
