The Swedish Fortifications Agency is the authority that ensures that the Swedish Armed Forces has the premises required for its operations. On Friday, March 13, the Swedish Fortifications Agency will sign a purchase agreement with the municipal company Kommunfastigheter i Arboga AB to acquire the Tornet property on Vinbäcksleden 15.
"We are pleased that the Swedish Armed Forces are expanding their operations in Arboga. This is important for the municipality's future and development. The Swedish Armed Forces is a large employer with a long-term view of its operations, which is very positive. For Arboga Municipality this is an important and welcome message. We look forward to signing the agreement with the Swedish Fortifications Agency," says Anders Röhfors, Mayor of Arboga.
The building will, to some extent, need to be adapted to the business that will be entering the premises and the occupancy date is not clear at present.
"Through the acquisition of the tower's 23,000 square meters, we secure good and appropriate premises for the Armed Forces' growth needs in Arboga. The total investment amounts to a maximum of SEK 90 million and the transaction requires the government to give its approval," says Göran Wahlström, Head of the Project Department at the Swedish Fortifications Agency.
