Sweden — The Gothenburg Opera is already operated as a company wholly owned by the Västra Götaland Region, but the property that houses the opera itself is owned by the City of Gothenburg. The Liberal Party now wants the City Executive Office to investigate the possibility of selling the property to the region. According to the party’s proposal, any proceeds from a potential sale would be allocated to the refurbishment and extension of the Gothenburg Museum of Art.
