Oskar Norelius is an architect, partner and most recently served as office manager for White in Stockholm. He has had a leading role in several internationally acclaimed projects, including Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, where he was one of the leading architects, and Stockholm Wood City – two of the world’s most ambitious wooden building projects. The projects have received significant international attention and have been awarded in WAF Awards, among others. His work is at the intersection of design, materials and systems and has proven how sustainable architecture can be realized in practice and on a large scale. Throughout his career, he has combined a strong architectural vision with a working method characterized by collaboration, responsibility and participation that clearly reflects White’s culture and values.

"The projects we work on today contain more perspectives, higher ambitions and greater responsibility. Holding the whole together requires both architectural competence, the ability to lead in complex contexts and the ability to gather people around a common ambition. Oskar has precisely those qualities. He is a highly skilled architect and a valued leader and cultural carrier with the right experience and judgment to take White into the next phase", says Chairman of the Board Niklas Flyborg.

White Arkitekter was founded in Gothenburg in 1951 and is today one of the leading architectural offices in the Nordic region with over 500 employees and operations in several countries. The employee-owned company is characterized by a holistic approach that combines sustainability and design with support in practical research and evidence. This has made White a sought-after partner in international contexts, with recent assignments won in, among others, Canada, the USA and the Netherlands, which further strengthens White's international portfolio. Working in different parts of the world sharpens expertise, adds new perspectives and enables important contributions where these issues are brought to the forefront.

Oskar Norelius will assume the role in connection with the Annual General Meeting on 7 May. For him, the CEO role is about taking forward the direction that White has built up over time and at the same time continuing to develop the role of the architect in a time of great change.

"We are in a situation where many of the issues we work on can no longer be separated. Materials, resources, climate and urban development are interconnected and give architecture a different weight. It is about taking responsibility for how these issues are implemented and held together in what is actually built. At the same time, we must not lose sight of what architecture is fundamentally about; how we live, work and meet. Our task is to actively contribute to better solutions and design places that people appreciate, cherish and want to be a part of over time. This requires both knowledge, courage and a clear sense of responsibility. I look forward to continuing to develop this work together with our employees, customers and partners both in Sweden and internationally", says Oskar Norelius
