“It is extremely pleasing. These are five high-quality retail properties with strong tenants, representing an addition that further strengthens our portfolio,” says Jöran Rydberg, Head of Transactions at Svenska Handelsfastigheter.

The acquisition includes a retail property in Nynäshamn, where Willys is the tenant under a lease agreement extending over twelve years.

The remaining four properties are located in Enköping, Hässleholm, and Torslanda, with Blomsterlandet as tenant, as well as a property in Grums leased to Hemköp. These four lease agreements have terms of ten years. In total, the five properties comprise approximately 12,000 square metres of retail space.

“The acquisition strengthens our presence in expanding and attractive growth regions. We also see opportunities, in collaboration with our tenants, to contribute to the development of these retail destinations, which is an important part of our long-term strategy,” says Jöran Rydberg.

The transaction is fully aligned with the company’s strategy of investing in stable, locally anchored retail destinations with strong grocery and retail anchors that share Svenska Handelsfastigheter’s long-term perspective on value creation.

“We have long maintained strong relationships with Willys, Hemköp, and Blomsterlandet, and we now look forward to further strengthening the conditions for sustainable growth for both our tenants and the local communities,” Rydberg adds.

The objective of Svenska Handelsfastigheter’s various collaborative initiatives is to create attractive, sustainable, and vibrant retail environments.

“We work consistently to identify acquisitions that offer long-term value creation potential. This transaction is yet another clear example of that. Our focus is on prime locations and the right tenants within the discount retail segment,” says Jöran Rydberg.

Svenska Handelsfastigheter continues to remain active in the transaction market and has, so far this year, taken possession of acquired properties corresponding to a value exceeding SEK 2.5 billion.
