Petra Karlsson Ekström is today CEO of Fastighets AB Förvaltaren, the public housing company in Sundbyberg, where she has worked since 2016. In parallel with that assignment, Petra Karlsson Ekström was also CEO of the group company Sundbybergs stadshus AB for a couple of years. Before that, she was property and development manager at Telge Hovsjö AB, the public housing company in Södertälje, and for a time also acting CEO.

Petra Karlsson Ekström has also worked as a project manager, local strategist and financial manager. Basically, she has a bachelor's degree in economics with a specialization in business administration and a series of leadership courses.
